About me

I’m Peter Schulcz, a Budapest-based freelance video editor and colorist with a passion for bringing stories to life through visuals. It took some time for me to fully realize my passion for films and cinema - what began as a hobby in film journalism eventually grew into a professional career, and over time, I felt the pull to explore the more technical and creative aspects of filmmaking.

Combining my fascination with all things digital, I began studying editing through various schools and self-teaching, while working at a small TV station. As my skills grew, I felt a natural urge to specialize, and color grading quickly became my focus.

Now, I aim to approach every project with a clean and professional style that is highly adaptive to my clients’ needs. While I strive to keep myself familiar with the trends of modern media, my main editing philosophy is to avoid overediting, favoring a thoughtful balance that complements the story and visual intent.

Outside of work, I’m a passionate film enthusiast, with a particular love for the New Hollywood era. I’m also an avid video gamer, fascinated by how the medium continues to converge with the film industry. When I step away from the screen, I love to travel, exploring new places and cultures that inspire me both personally and creatively. Currently, I’m studying Japanese, with the long-term goal of eventually moving to “The Land of the Rising Sun”.
